TIMESHEETS & PAY PERIODS

All workers are to fill out their timesheets every day before leaving for the day. Do not wait until the last day of the pay period to fill out your time sheet – this could cause inaccuracies and we would need to refer to the camera to determine correct pay.

All workers are offered up to 40 hours of work per week.

The current pay period is Friday - Thursday, with weekly paychecks.

TIME OFF

There are no paid days off. Since you are a contractor and not an employee, you do not have to request time off. Simply add your name to the board and let your manager know what days (or hours of a day) you’ll need off with as much notice as possible.

No-call, no-shows are a big deal – you must let someone know unless there is an emergency. Like all jobs, you can be fired for this.

Holidays

We are closed for all holidays that UPS also closes for (usually US Bank Holidays). We don’t offer paid holidays, currently.

BREAKS

Texas law requires workers to take one 10-minute break every 4 consecutive hours of work and a 30-minute meal break for every 8 hours of work. We offer a 1-hour paid lunch, which will cover your break and lunch.

Depending on the managers and workers at the time, we have two break times for lunch: 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm.

Typically, workers taking the later lunch break work 10am - 6pm, workers who take the earlier lunch break work 9am - 5pm. Please speak with your manager if you have questions about this.

SECURITY

Our security system is SimpliSafe. We have unique codes for key holders and an online account that logs everything. Please be aware that the front and back door are recorded 24/7 and store recordings when people are detected. It also sends notifications to management’s phones in case they want to monitor who is coming and going.

We have a doorbell on the front and back doors so keep an ear out for the doorbell. The doors beep when opened or closed, as well.

We keep the front, back, and garage doors locked at all times. We are “by appointment only” which means we do not allow people to just come in without letting us know before arrival. UPS, FedEx, Amazon, etc. may come to the front or back door during business hours and are allowed in.

Anyone entering the business must be accompanied by a worker or manager at all times. Exceptions are for A/C work, building maintenance, insurance representatives, property management, and any emergency workers. We do not let in law enforcement of any kind unless they provide a physical warrant signed by a judge and a manager + owner are notified.

The front door has a single deadbolt. Please follow any visitor or worker when they are leaving so that the door can be locked. Managers and key holders will lock the door themselves. The last person to come in for the day should lock the door behind them.

We don't allow workers to bring any guests outside of the waiting area.

PHONE POLICY

Phones are to be used passively for music/podcasts/etc. only. Texting and phone calls are not allowed in the work area. If you need to use your phone for any reason, please step out of the room. Taking calls and texting outside of the work area is fine in moderation but please make sure that you do not take advantage of this privilege.

FOOD, DRINKS, AND PERSONAL ITEMS

All food items must be kept out of the packing room at all times.

We provide a locker with a lock for you to store your personal items. We have two refrigerators that you can use to store food and drinks. We have a microwave and a toaster oven as well as a tea kettle and coffee pot.

DRESS CODE AND PROTECTIVE WEAR

We do not have a dress code, so feel free to wear whatever helps you work the best. However, you must wear close-toed shoes at all times. This is because all workers will have to enter the warehouse area at some point.

While handling tablets and cotton that goes into the bottles/jars, you must wear gloves every single time. If you leave the room and touch other things with your gloves, you must replace your gloves. This is not optional.

WORK AREAS

The packaging area is the largest room, located next to the break room and shipping/receiving.

The shipping/receiving area is in the back of the building and also contains all of the packaging materials (excluding jar/bottle labels).

* Right now, the shipping/receiving area does not have A/C, so please keep that in mind if you are to be working out there during the warmer months. Ideally no one will be working in this area the entire day, but will be going in and out as needed.

STORAGE & SUPPLIES

Warehouse supplies are in the shipping/receiving area, just outside of the door from the interior hallway. We also keep some bathroom supplies under the sink of each bathroom.

If you notice we are running low on something or are already out, please let a manager know as soon as possible so that we can restock. We can get most things next-day as long as we are able to place the order before 4pm.

We will have a dry-erase board (or something similar) to regularly keep a list of things that need restocking or running low on.

CLEANING

It's important that we keep the warehouse clean and in order to help prevent future problems. Here's our cleaning schedule:

The packaging rooms

Every day, about 15 minutes before we leave, we do a quick clean of the warehouse.

  1. Place all of the unpackaged tablets that are left onto the wire push cart along with any unfinished products (if any)
  2. Use sticky notes or masking tape to label anything you need to remember for tomorrow or to note tablet counts
  3. Keep all tablet types together
  4. Put away all items used during packaging
  5. Make sure to keep all labels and batch/expiration stickers in the right place – this is the number one way to mislabel something the next day
  6. Sanitize the steel tables with alcohol
  7. Wipe down the other tables with alcohol or cleaning solution
  8. Sweep the floors
  9. Take out the trash
  10. Turn off any equipment and lights

Shipping/Receiving area

  1. Put away all tape guns, markers, and other items
  2. Organize empty boxes to keep them in the same size order
  3. Clear off the shipping desk
  4. Take all of the trash bags from inside and outside and take them to the dumpster
  5. Make sure both garage doors and back door are locked and the deadbolt is turned

Friday cleaning

Once a week on Fridays, in addition to our daily cleaning, we do a deeper clean:

  1. Complete normal daily cleaning
  2. Mop the floors of the interior (not shipping/receiving area)
  3. Clean the bathrooms
  4. Use toilet bowl cleaner and let it sit while doing the rest of the cleaning
  5. Spray down the toilet, sink, paper towel dispenser, and door handles (both sides)
  6. Sweep and mop the floors
  7. Use the toilet brush to clean the inside of the toilet
  8. Restock supplies under the sink
  9. Using the push broom, do a quick sweep of the warehouse
  10. Check all supplies and note things that need to be restocked
